"While no project is ever 100% trouble-free, Callidus came online remarkably smoothly — and, unlike other solutions we considered, Callidus is set up so we can bring it back in-house and manage it ourselves, should we ever want to do so down the line. It was and remains a good decision for us."

Novel

Novell (NasdaqGS:NOVL) is a leading provider of information solutions that deliver secure identity management, Web applications and cross-platform networking services. Lack of visibility and the rigidity of the legacy compensation system meant that plans and models were misaligned with corporate goals and objectives. Sales lost confidence in the system, and shadow accounting became the norm. Novell needed a flexible solution that allowed it to make the necessary changes to reflect business decisions without a time lag.

By choosing Callidus Sales Performance Management, Novell reduced reliance on IT, and was able to make changes needed to reflect business decisions. Novell also launched a self-service portal allowing visibility into up-to-date compensation information, eliminating the need for shadow accounting.

CSAA

California State Automobile Association (CSAA) provides a wide array of automotive, travel, insurance and financial services to more than 4,000,000 members throughout California, Nevada and Utah. It is the second-largest member group in the AAA organization. Increased competition and changing demographics required CSAA to segment its offering, and launch new products quickly. However, with its legacy system, CSAA could not perform the adequate analysis for segmentation.

Using Callidus, CSAA is able to customize its offering by segmenting products and services. The company reduced its new product launch duration from 6 months to 3 months by empowering business users to make required plan changes, and reducing reliance on IT.

Lenovo Group is the former IBM Personal Computing Division. The company develops, manufactures and markets reliable high-quality technology products and services worldwide. The acquisition of the IBM Personal Computing Division caused high turnover and low morale in the sales organization, due to the lack of visibility into programs and inaccuracy of compensation payments.

Lenovo leveraged Callidus to compute accurate compensation payments, and reduced errors and disputes by providing a detailed compensation reporting system. This transparency in the compensation systems dramatically increased retention of sales employees.

Covad

Covad (AMEX:DVW) is transforming communications through innovative broadband services. Covad was the first to commercially deploy DSL in the United States. Technological changes and increasing competition required the company to shift its business model and rely on channel partners.

Callidus allowed Covad to leverage compensation strategically by providing timely and accurate compensation payments to internal sales and channel partners.

Ethicon, a Johnson & Johnson Company

Ethicon Inc., a division of Johnson & Johnson, develops and markets products for surgery wound management and advanced wound care treatment. Prior to Callidus, the company was not able to leverage incentive compensation spend strategically. It was not clear if compensation programs met the objective of revenue growth, and if they contributed to overall corporate goals.

Ethicon benefited from an integrated compensation and reporting solution from Callidus, and is now able to perform spend analysis on each incentive to measure effectiveness in real time.
